Itaipu Lake

The Itaipu reservoir, formed in 1982 due to the construction of the power plant, offers a series of leisure activities for residents and visitors, who can enjoy artificial beaches, go fishing and have fun at the Itaipu Lake Thermal Water Park.

The park is located in a space that is 260,000 m2 in Itaipulândia, a municipality 70 kilometers away from Foz do Iguaçu. The park has water slides and thermal pools, with water from the Guarani Aquifer, which is naturally heated to 36° C.

There are attractions for people of all ages. Children can play in an area with pools and toys, such as a water castle, water slides for children, and a lagoon that is over 2,000 m2.

For adults, there is a covered thermal pool that has a 700 person capacity, with an attached bar, a wave pool and three giant water slides: the Kamikaze, the Free Fall and the Swirl. Each one provides a different type of excitement and fun.

There is also the Lazy River, which runs throughout the park and can be navigated on individual boats. It passes the Wild River, swim up bars, restaurants, kiosks and a stage for shows.

Artificial beaches

In the municipalities of Foz do Iguaçu, Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, São Miguel do Iguaçu, Itaipulândia, Missal, Marechal Cândido Rondon and Santa Helena, there are artificial beaches which are very popular in the summer.
