Parachute Jump

An unbeatable landscape at 3,000 meters high

After seeing the attractions of Foz do Iguaçu, how about taking in the spectacular view of the border from above? No experience or training is needed to do a tandem jump and enjoy the breathtaking scenery from a height of 3,000 meters.

The first visual impact for those jumping is the colossal Itaipu Hydroelectric Dam and its reservoir, which stretches out to the horizon. Along the Paraná River, after the site where the power plant is located, you have a privileged view of the busy bridge that joins Brazil and Paraguay and, on either side of the border, the sister cities Foz do Iguaçu and Ciudad del Este.

Further on is a clear view of the point where the Paraná and Iguaçu rivers meet, shortly after the falls. Pay close attention to the mass of water that forms a cloud on the horizon, marking the world’s most famous waterfalls.

The jump lasts approximately 10 minutes, which is time enough to appreciate the beauty of the border region and understand its geography, a land of two great rivers, each with its own wonders: in Iguaçu, the falls in all their splendor; in Paraná, Itaipu, the world's largest power plant in terms of energy generation and an example of integration between two peoples.

For tourists and residents who have never parachuted before, a tandem jump with an instructor is a guaranteed adrenalin rush without risks. There are also jumps available for amateur or professional parachutists, many of whom come from far afield to fly above the border replete with wonders.

Parachute jumps have been offered in Foz do Iguaçu since May 2013 and are operated by Skydive Foz, who found a favorable climate and location in the region.

The parachute center operates at Estância Hércules, located near the Itaipu Dam, and includes a runway and comprehensive infrastructure to receive those interested in participating in the adventure.
