Ecomuseum host the exhibition "Poty, o poeta do traço" 22.10.2014

Ecomuseum host the exhibition

Until February 8, 2015, the Itaipu Ecomuseum will be hosting the exhibition "Poty, poeta do trace" (Poty, the stroke poet), by Paraná native Poty Lazzarotto.

The show includes some 130 works, ranging from engravings to watercolors, covering various of the artist's phases, while focusing on the theme of work and professions.

Two video-documentaries are also part of the exhibition: one presenting statements about the artist and the other with the artist herself discussing her works.

Potty Lazzarotto was born on March 24, 1924, in Curitiba, and passed away on May 8, 1998. Known for her huge ceramic panels, Poty's work can be seen throughout Paraná, chiefly in the state capital.

At Itaipu, the panel "Trabalhadors da Barragem" (Damn Workers), created in 1998 in front of the Central Observatory, and passed by visitors to the plant, pays homage to Itaipu damn builders.

Two additional exhibitions

Two other exhibitions are on at the Ecomuseum until February 8, 2015.

The show "À mão livre" (Free hand), by Haroldo Alvarenga, presents sculptures by the local artist, who passed away in March last year.

While "Foz em Aquarelas" (Foz in Waterclors" offers 17 works by artist Beto Candia, portraying the attractions of Foz do Iguaçu, such as the Friend Bridge, Iguazu Falls and the Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant.
