After spending day visiting the wonders of Foz do Iguaçu, how about discovering the city’s nightlife? It will certainly be a worthwhile experience, thanks to the variety of attractions and the opportunity to coexist with the locals, a cheerful people that love the nightlife.

 

Foz do Iguaçu has everything from typical shows, with an emphasis on local and Latin American folklore, to the presentation of artists that play on Brazil’s leading stages.

 

From rock to Popular Brazilian Music, Sertanejo to international names, here there is no lack of reason to have fun. Check it out.

 

Iporã Lenda Show

 

A show that blends dance, music and a lot of color, “Iporã Lenda Show” presents 50 artists on stage, including dancers, singers and musicians. Taking you on a musical journey, they recount the legend of the Iguassu Falls and then “travel” through a number of South American countries, until returning to Brazil to demonstrate the culture of the North and Northeast, and the canniness of Rio de Janeiro.

 

Monday to Saturday, at 8 pm, Avenida das Cataratas, 1,749.

 

Churrascaria Rafain’s Show

 

Rafain Barbecue House presents a daily music and dance show than blends the folklore of the tri-point border nations – Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina – to other countries from the Americas and Caribbean.

 

The presentation, which runs for almost two hours, occurs during a dinner that includes a rodizio of prime cuts of meat, served with salads, hot dishes and a buffet service of desserts and ice-creams.

 

Daily, from 8:45 pm.

 

Oba-Oba Bottega Samba Show

 

Samba, carnival and the Afro-Brazilian culture in the style of Rio de Janeiro, on a stage in Foz do Iguaçu. Over 30 artists, including beautiful mullatos, participate in the show, which opens with a tribute to a number of countries, culminating in a party at the sambadrome, when even the most timid in the audience try their hand at samba.

 

Oba-Oba Bottega Samba Show is presented from Monday to Saturday, at 8 pm.

 

Zeppelin Old Bar

 

Rock’n’roll, jazz, blues or MPB in the company of friends and cold beer is the proposal of Zeppelin Old Bar, which, each week, presents bands from Brazil and abroad.

 

The bar also has an area for the presentation of pieces and exhibitions.

 

From Tuesday to Saturday, from 8:30 pm.

 

Ono Teatro Bar

 

A show venue with a capacity for 3,000 people, the Ono Teatro Bar presents big national and international names in its program.

 

It also caters to corporate events, fashion shows and trade and cultural expositions.

 

Shows on Fridays and Saturdays, from 11 pm.

 

Ballinas Nuit Club

 

An Irish-themed pub with a capacity for 500 people, Ballinas Irish Pub also offers live music. The best day is Friday, with pop/rock attractions.

 

The bar offers 40 types of beer, as well as the majority of whiskey labels.

 

From Tuesday to Sunday, from 7 pm until the last customer.

 

Wood’s Bar

 

The specialty of Wood’s Bar, following the example of its sister establishments in São Paulo, Curitiba and other cities, is live Sertanejo music.

 

Duets and singers successful throughout Brazil perform here.

 

The venue is open on Fridays and Saturdays, from 11 pm.

 

Teatro do Excluído

 

It is truly worth learning more about the idea behind Companhia Experiencial Teatro do Excluído. It is aimed at providing a professional demonstration of what exists “outside of Brazil’s current cultural circuit”.

 

Pieces are presented to small audiences, made up of no more than 15 spectators.

The venue is inside Escola Lupah, on Rua Rui Barbosa, in the city center.

 

Laos Lounge Bar

 

Decorated in the fashion of Southeast Asia, Laos is located in a region home to Foz do Iguaçu’s most intense nightlife. The bar offers live and electronic music. The Asian snacks and dishes draw a large cliental, including both locals and tourists.

 

Taj Bar

 

Foz do Iguaçu’s newest nightclub. Similar to the Taj in Curitiba, Balneário Camboriú and Vitória (Espírito Santo), the bar has Indian decoration and offers typical dishes from that country, with options from Japan and Thailand, too, and just the right Brazilian touch.
