Foz's resort will be biggest in southern Brazil

Approximately BRL 50 million will be invested to December 2017.

The Mabu Thermas Grand Resort in Foz do Iguaçu is going to build the largest water park in southern Brazil. The attraction dubbed Blue Park will require the investment of about BRL 50 million and construction will be finished in December 2017.

The announcement was made by Wellington Estruquel, Mabu Hotéis & Resorts CEO. According to him, the hotel has increased its room supply by 75%, from 208 to 364, and also expanded its leisure area, which included setting up hot spring beaches late last year.

“We’ve had very positive results as our rooms have been fully booked for all holidays this year, which has helped our leisure business to grow 15% more than our events business for the first time,”,  he said. That bolstered the group’s decision to expand the attractions.

Blue Park attractions include the Wizard, comprising four interconnected water slides along which visitors slide down on mats at high speeds; Aqualoop, a slide 20 meters high and 70 meters long; kids’ Slow River, which is 40 centimeters deep and allows kids to have fun on floats; Aquaplay, an exclusive park for children, and the wave beach.
